About the Artist

Painter, printmaker
Visual artist
I would like to illuminate that we live on the ancestral lands of Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation. I honor Mother Earth as a sacred entity, of which we are part. I revere and am immensely grateful for all who have so thoughtfully stewarded this land, and by extension, me.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: I am an oil painter and printmaker of life at our farm, Full Belly Farm in the Cache Creek watershed.
Our sacral farm feeds me
in more ways than just food.
I am deeply rooted in this place and
marvel at how it changes through the seasons.
Death feeds life.
Seeds sprout.
Plants grow and blossom.
The harvest is abundant.
Wildlife Abounds.
All sorts of interesting people
come through in various ways.
Eaters eat.
Workers work.
Lovers love.
I have been making art for as long as I can remember. For 25 years, art making rode side car with parenthood & farmwork; the paintings from that period were shown as a series called "The Salt Years" at my show at a local gallery. As my sons graduated high school, I transitioned back to making art full time, thereby creating my latest role at our farm.
The challenge of mastering my craft is very rewarding and never ends. Immersing myself, painting and drawing, fills my soul -- especially outside, hearing susurrous winds and water flowing, all punctuated by wild creatures roaming land, water, and sky.
Every hour available to make art, is a precious gift.
I am eternally grateful for the privilege of doing this work.
