We live on a fertile, organic farm the heart of which is soil and people. Right by my house, there is a greenhouse that at one time had miraculous, tiny black onion seeds germinating. Meanwhile, outside, were trials for regenerative agriculture, no till farming methods. My farmer husband is passionate about figuring out how to make these methods viable in our Mediterranean climate, without harsh winter to break down the organic matter after it is crimped down by the rollers. The inner workings -- of the cycle of life, death, and then decay, which allows more new life in a continuous circle -- never cease to inspire and awe.
