I live on Cache Creek and hang out on this bank, with my trusty black lab, every day possible.

One year, the point here was particularly suitable for singing prayers and poetry. The vista is beautiful, and the water is loud so one can really sing out!

It is always great fun to witness nature's changes. The rushing waters of heavy rains in the winter alter the creek bed and bank. The cottonwood on the left has died since this painting was completed. Now, it is a marvel to watch, as there are no leaves to obstruct the view of the fabulous, roosting birds.

I wish there was a way to add a soundtrack to this website for you to hear.

Close your eyes and imagine...

birdsong,

the wind rustling through the tress,

and most especially, the boisterous current of the creek.

as the riverbed here makes a sudden, steep decline,

Hear a rare whitewater kayaker

shrill with delight!
